Excessive thirsty at night can also be a sign of diabetes insipidus. This diabetes occurs when the body cannot regulate fluids properly. It causes an imbalance of water in the body, so people often urinate and get excessive thirst.

4. Diabetes Mellitus

Excessive thirst, both at night before bed and in the morning, can also be caused by high blood sugar or hyperglycemia. Thirsty that often arises or is called polydipsia is one symptom of people who have type 2 diabetes.

5. Xerostomia

One can also experience thirst and dry mouth due to the occurrence of xerostomia. Xerostomia is a condition when salivary glands in the mouth do not produce enough saliva to keep the mouth wet.
This dry mouth can be caused by certain drugs, aging problems, or the effects of radiation therapy for cancer.

The essential drink to take at bedtime is water. Water is free of sugar, so it is safe for teeth before bed and safe for adding calories to the body. It will not increase the calories that enter, and water does not add stained teeth before bedtime.
